Earth Day is April 22 and we are encouraging our shoppers  to get involved by Recycling, Reducing, and Reusing all week long.

PLASTIC BAG RECYCLING

APRIL 19-21

Bring your plastic bags to the Oakridge Centre Concierge Desk in the West Galleria to be recycled.  Exchange a minimum of 20 bags and you can enter to win a $500 Oakridge Gift Card*.  For every bag collected Oakridge Centre will donate $1 to the World Wildlife Fund **.

*Limit one ballot per customer per day.  **To a maximum of $2000.

ELECTRONICS RECYCLING

APRIL 22-24

Clearing out your clutter?  From 10am to 4pm Metro Materials will be on site in the Southwest parking lot, near Kin’s Farm Market and the Hennessey Salon and Spa entrance, collecting end of life electronics and batteries.  For every contribution you can enter to win a $500 Oakridge Centre Gift Card*.

A recent graduate from the Fashion Business and Creative Arts Program at John Casablancas Institute, she aspires to someday work for an international fashion magazine. As a Style Agent, she hopes to bring a fresh perspective on Vancouver fashion.

Peter has over five years of experience in the fashion industry under his (flashy, designer-made) belt, which has developed a sharp eye for detail and sixth sense for style. With his passion for fashion, vivacious personality and a smile to match, Peter keeps it chic in the city.”

Ana Serrano
My name is Ana Serrano, and I’m one of Oakridge’s new style agents. I was born in Mexico City and moved to Vancouver when I was fifteen years old, now I’m twenty three.
I graduated from Capilano University with a diploma in Performing Arts. My passion for fashion started when I was six years old and my grandma took me to my first fashion show. I immediately fell in love with style and fashion. Since then I have assisted many people put together outfits for different occasions, and I’m always up to date of what is occurring in the world of fashion. I wish to work as an independent stylist for celebrities in the future. I’m also starting my own business exporting clothing from Mexico.
I believe that everyone has a unique style and that style is a way to express who you are inside. We all deserve to look our best! As a style agent I will represent Oakridge Centre following that belief.

Jessie Carlson
Born and raised in Vancouver, Jessie Carlson has been helping women define their own style for close to 10 years. ‘My favourite clients to work with are women who have otherwise given up on looking fabulous’ says Jessie, owner of a personal styling business, Jessie Carlson Wardrobe. Jessie is a true lover of style and thinks that all women are beautiful and that some of us just need a little push to realize it. Jessie has been shopping at Oakridge Centre since high school, stepping into the role as an Oakridge Style Agent has been a perfect fit.

This could be your Defining Moment – Virgin Radio 95.3 and Oakridge Centre are looking for a team of four Style Agents to help celebrate their 50th Anniversary.

Throughout the Oakridge 50th Anniversary year, Style Agents will lead the fashion following on the OakridgeStyle.com blog, have the opportunity to be published in FASHION Magazine and be a VIP at the Oakridge Anniversary Event, Oakridge Fall Fashion Gala and other high profile events.

It’s a great opportunity to rub shoulders with the who’s who in the Vancouver fashion industry. We’ll even get each Style Agent started with a $500 Oakridge shopping allowance, plus more bonuses and perks throughout the year.

Three of the four winners will be chosen by a panel of our fashion experts on April 20, 2009. The fourth winner will be chosen online by viewer voting – so you and your friends can also have a say in who the Style Agents will be!
